Officers found a 16-year-old boy shot in North Chicago last Saturday, just four days after a new police substation opened nearby.

The North Chicago Police Department responded around 8:10 p.m. on January 6 to the 1000 block of Jackson Street in North Chicago for shots fired detected by ShotSpotter.
