This course includes classroom and range time learning to how to teach the sport of shooting Muzzleloading firearms
Full Description: This 18 hour course teaches the knowledge, skills and attitude essential to organizing, promoting and teaching the NRA-NMLRA Basic Muzzleloading Shooting course.
Prerequisite: Possession of basic firearm safety and shooting skills. Candidates must complete a pre-course questionnaire and demonstrate their firearm background by passing a pre-course qualification. Description: Course is presented in two parts: basic Instructor training, and discipline specific instructor training. Instructor candidates’ demonstrate organizational and teaching skills by participating in multiple practical exercises during the course, and complete an instructor certification examination. Students will receive the NRA Trainer’s Guide, NRA-NMLRA Muzzleloading Shooting Instructor Candidate Packet, and NRA-NMLRA Basic Muzzleloading Shooting course student packet.

This class consists of 12.5 hours of classroom instruction.
Prerequisites: BIT Training
Student must have attended a NRA Basic Instructor Training (BIT) within the last two years.
To teach students the basic knowledge, skills and attitude for safely owning and using a rifle.
Meet the following age requirements:
- Certified Instructor: 21 years of age or older
- Assistant Instructor: 18 years of age or older
- Apprentice Instructor: 13-17 years of age
Receive a passing grade on the NRA Trainer’s Examination and appropriate instructor certification examination:
- Certified: 90 percent or higher
- Assistant: 85 percent or higher
- Apprentice: 85 percent or higher

Prerequisites for this class include the NRA Basic Instructor Training (BIT) and the NRA-NMLRA Basic Muzzleloading Shooting Course. The BIT class must have been taken within the last 24 months. Mouseover the box for more info!

Do I need a F.O.I.D Card?
No, Red Dot Arms Training Academy does not require a F.O.I.D card to attend. Illinois residents should apply for their F.O.I.D. if they are planning to purchase, possess or transport their own firearms.
Do I need to take the NRA Basic Instructor Training (BIT)
An NRA Basic Instructor Training (BIT) class has to be taken in prior 2 years to take the NRA Instructor Rifle Shooting Course.
Is the cost of the NRA Basic Instructor Training (BIT) included.
Yes, there is no extra charge for NRA Basic Instructor Training (BIT) when registering for this class.

A FOID card is not required to participate in the class. Out of state residents need to follow the age requirements and have a valid ID.
