Shotgun Maintenance and Troubleshooting Class
Our Shotgun Maintenance and Troubleshooting Class provides training in maintenance essentials training in shotgun care to ensure your firearm remains safe, clean, and fully Functional. This class is great for anyone who wants to feel more confident in handling and fixing different kinds of shotguns. This includes pump-action, semi-automatic, and break-action shotguns.
Class Overview (2 Hours)
This comprehensive class covers all aspects of shotgun maintenance. You’ll learn the fundamentals of shotgun cleaning and maintenance , from cleaning to troubleshooting common issues. Training is tailored to various shotgun types, allowing you to apply these skills to your own firearm.
What to Expect
In this two-hour session, the instructor will take you through the important initial steps to get to know your shotgun. Expect a combination of brief lectures, demonstrations, and simple interactive activities designed to build your comfort level. You may not learn every skill or cover complex topics. However, you will get enough knowledge to practice safely and responsibly by yourself with a varearity of troubleshooting tips.

Topics Covered
- Disassembly and Reassembly:Â Understand the steps involved in taking apart and reassembling your shotgun. This skill is important for knowing how different parts work together. It is needed for taking care of shotguns and fixing problems.
- Cleaning Techniques: Our instructors guide you through each step of the shotgun cleaning process. You’ll learn to use cleaning tools like rods, brushes, mops, bore snakes, and specialty chemicals, such as cleaning solvent and gun oil. Proper cleaning techniques help ensure the longevity and reliability of your shotgun.
- Maintenance Essentials: Get a detailed overview of key maintenance practices. This includes inspecting critical components such as the magazine tube, trigger group, choke tubes, and more. By the end of this section, you’ll be able to visually inspect and verify each component’s functionality.
- Troubleshooting Tips:Â Learn how to diagnose and address common performance issues with your shotgun. We offer helpful shotgun maintenance and troubleshooting
- tips and skills to help you fix problems. This way, you can confidently handle issues and keep your shotgun working well.

If you have a shotgun, please bring it to class.
I do not own a shotgun at this time, may I still attend the class?
Yes, we will provide shotguns for those that do not have one.

FOID Statement: Illinois residents that will be TRANSPORTING their own firearm to and from the class/range must be in possession of a valid FOID/CCL card, and be of legal age, 21 for handguns, and 18 for long guns. A FOID card is not required to participate in the class. Out of state residents need to follow the age requirements and have a valid ID.
