Illinois Concealed Carry Part 2: Advanced Training for Real-World Situations
Our Concealed Carry Part 2 class is designed for those who want to build on the fundamentals learned in Illinois Concealed Carry Part 1. This advanced training goes beyond basic skills, preparing you for real-life scenarios.
We Draw from the Holster – Unlike the Competition
What sets us apart? Unlike many other concealed carry classes, we teach you how to draw from the holster. This critical skill is essential for anyone serious about personal defense. Under the guidance of our  Rangemaster/ LE NRA Certified instructor, you’ll practice drawing from concealment in a safe, controlled environment.
Classroom Instruction: Essential Legal and Practical Knowledge
The CCL Part 2 class starts in the classroom, where participants gain a deep understanding of the legal responsibilities involved in concealed carry. We review Illinois concealed carry laws, explaining what constitutes a concealed weapon, where you can legally carry, and when the use of force is justified to defend yourself or others. Students will also explore key legal definitions like bodily harm, reasonable force, and deadly force. Additionally, the course covers how to de-escalate situations and safely interact with law enforcement while carrying. This foundational knowledge ensures students are prepared for real-life situations, providing them with the legal insight needed before applying their skills in later practical exercises. By building this strong legal foundation, participants can confidently carry with a full understanding of their responsibilities.
Understanding the Body’s Response to Threats: Fight, Flight, and More
When faced with danger, the body’s natural reaction often falls into fight or flight mode. In these moments, the body undergoes several physiological changes. For example:
- Vasoconstriction: The narrowing of blood vessels redirects blood flow to essential organs and muscles, which can lead to cold hands or feet.
- Auditory exclusion: Sounds around you may fade, making it harder to hear what’s happening.
- Tunnel vision: Your field of vision narrows, helping you focus on the threat but reducing your awareness of your surroundings.
These responses, while natural, can impact your ability to make quick decisions. In our course, we address these physiological effects, helping participants understand and manage their body’s reactions to stress. With the right training, you can learn to overcome these instinctual responses and stay focused when it matters most.
Build Confidence with Live Fire Drills
In this course, you will:
- Conduct live fire drills to improve accuracy and speed
- Learn tactical reloads for various scenarios
- Practice shooting from various concealed garments that you will bring
Our expert instruction ensures you’re prepared for high-pressure situations, so you can confidently protect yourself and others if the need arises.
“Live fire drills are an excellent way to improve your shooting skills, but drawing from the holster adds another layer of real-world readiness. To enhance your ability to respond quickly and confidently in a defensive situation, we recommend enrolling in our Skills and Drills: Drawing from the Holster class. This course will help you practice essential holster draw techniques, ensuring you’re prepared to handle concealed carry situations effectively.”
