A woman is in custody after the police chief said she slashed a victim in the face in Wauconda, causing permanent disfigurement and requiring him to get almost two dozen stitches.

The Wauconda Police Department responded around 9:30 p.m. Saturday to a report of a delayed battery that occurred at a home in the 900 block of Grand Boulevard.
