Prosecutors say a man playing with a gun fired it into a neighboring residence in North Chicago and the bullet nearly struck a man lying on a mattress — in the same room where a baby was.

Uriel E. Aguilar, 35, of North Chicago, was charged with one count of unlawful use of a weapon and reckless discharge of a firearm, both Class 4 felonies.
