LAKE COUNTY, Ill. — A driver who fled police across the Wisconsin border in a stolen vehicle was killed in a high-speed collision that injured eight people in the other vehicle in Newport Township on Saturday, officials said.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to Route 173 and Kilbourne road in unincorporated Zion around 4:30 p.m. Saturday to a traffic crash with reported injuries, where they found two vehicles with major damage.
