Police have released surveillance video showing multiple suspects trying to enter vehicles in a neighborhood in Antioch before fleeing the area Tuesday evening.

The Antioch Police Department said that multiple suspects were captured on video attempting to enter unlocked vehicles in the Clublands subdivision.

“As you can see in the video these would-be thieves can check an entire block in a short time,” the department said.

The suspects also had a getaway vehicle that followed them on the block, the video, which was taken around 10:15 p.m., showed.

An alert resident called 911 after spotting the suspects and police saturated the area.

The vehicle fled the subdivision at a high rate of speed and police did not catch them.

The Antioch Police Department said that residents should follow the “9 p.m. routine.”

The 9 p.m. routine has been adopted on social media by law enforcement agencies across North America.
