JEANERETTE, LA – Authorities have confirmed that during a standoff with an armed suspect, one police officer was killed and three other officers were injured.

According to KLFY, the suspect, 31-year-old Nyjal Hurst has been arrested after an hours long armed hostage standoff with multiple law enforcement agencies, including the SWAT team. On Thursday, July 25th, around 9:00 a.m., the Marshal’s Office learned that Hurst was inside of a home located in the 2500 block of Martin Luther King Drive.
