Increased police presence, lockdown put into place after threat of violence at middle school in Waukegan

School officials say they have identified a student or students involved after a threat of a shooting was made toward Edith Smith Middle School in Waukegan on Wednesday.

Edith Smith Middle School Principal Yvonne Brown said in a message to parents on Wednesday that a potential threat was relayed to staff and law enforcement.
