(The Center Square) – Governor JB Pritzker said Tuesday that ending cash bail is a “more fair” system as the state awaits a ruling from the Illinois Supreme Court in the SAFE-T Act lawsuit.

The law ending cash bail statewide was initially passed with the SAFE-T Act in early 2021.
