New Research: Estimating the Effect of Concealed Carry Laws on Murder: A Response to Bondy, et al.

n response to our short paper in Academia Letters, Bondy et. al. published much longer response in this journal. We show that the Bondy et. al. criticisms are misleading and irrelevant. We present new estimates of the effect of right-to-carry and permit-less “constitutional carry” laws on the murder rate.

New Research: How does concealed carrying of weapons affect violent crime? May 31, 2024 | Original Research CPRC original research

Several articles have been published finding that carry concealed weapons (CCW) laws allowing citizens with a concealed carry permit to go about with a firearm concealed on their person, cause violent crime to increase. While most of the research finds that right-to-carry laws reduce crime, let’s assume that these laws do increase violent crime.

Suspect fights with police during arrest, disarms officer of his gun and ends up being fatally shot

MARION, IN - The Indiana State Police (ISP) are actively investigating an officer-involved shooting that left the suspect dead.
