Police in the Lake County area are on the lookout for a vehicle that struck and critically injured a pedestrian in Chicago before fleeing the scene. The Chicago Police Department distributed a police bulletin earlier this week regarding an attempt to locate a hit-and-run vehicle.

State police say a Waukegan man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after he allegedly opened fire on another vehicle on a Chicago area expressway. Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 1 East Violent Crimes Unit recently arrested Leroyience Simmons, 34, of Waukegan.

The human remains of a missing Crystal Lake man have been found and a suspect has been charged with kidnapping and murdering the missing man, authorities announced. Crystal Lake Police Chief James Black, Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie Mosser and Kane County Sheriff Ron Hain announced late Saturday evening the arrest of 61-year-old Douglas Ottesen.

The North Chicago Fire Department and North Chicago Police Department responded around 9:56 a.m. Monday to the area of Hervey Avenue and 15th Street for a report of shots fired.

A 14-year-old was taken into custody after police responded to Jacobs High School in Algonquin for a report that the student displayed a weapon on social media. The Algonquin Police Department responded around 10:15 a.m. Monday to Harry D. Jacobs High School, 2601 Bunker Hill Drive in Algonquin.

Police are seeking three suspects who forced their way into an elderly woman’s home and held her in place before ransacking her house in Lake Forest. The incident happened sometime between 7-8 p.m. last Saturday in the 1000 block of West Deerpath Road in Lake Forest.

Two suspects from Illinois were arrested after a stolen vehicle out of Lake County led police on a pursuit that ended in the car crashing into a tree in Kenosha County. The Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, Police Department said they located a car stolen from Lake County traveling northbound on Green Bay Road last Monday.
