CHICAGO — A 3-year-old boy was wounded in a shooting overnight in Humboldt Park. Police said the boy and his mother were in a vehicle in the 1100 block of North Kostner around 10:45 p.m. when someone in a pickup truck fired shots.
Prosecutors say a man armed with a rifle, later confirmed to be a pellet gun, approached his neighbor and responding officers with the gun before being tased in Round Lake Beach. Ismael V. Ortega, 29, of Round Lake Beach, was charged with aggravated battery to a peace officer and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
