WASHINGTON, DC – A fugitive on the loose who was arrested and charged with murder earlier in September in the D.C. area was reportedly spotted in a residential backyard via security cameras. The murder suspect, who reportedly has a history of attacking police officers, managed to escape from custody after being transferred to an area hospital over an alleged ankle injury.

On September 6th, Metropolitan Police arrested 30-year-old Christopher Haynes in connection with an August 12th shooting amid the 1500 block of Kenilworth Avenue that left 33-year-old Brent Hayward deceased and one other victim seriously injured.

Haynes was reportedly apprehended in Manassas and was en route to the Metropolitan Police Department for processing when he reportedly claimed to have an ankle injury. Apparently, officers transported Haynes to George Washington Hospital on the afternoon of September 6th following his injury complaints, where Haynes made his escape on foot after overpowering an officer attempting to cuff him to the hospital bed.
